Chinwags Storysharing & Entertainment is owned and operated by Inge Van Mensel.

It is a mobile business that brings an interactive storytelling performance and creative storytelling workshops to your childcare centre, school, home, library and bookshop or community centre.

With the performances  we want to encourage children, carers and educators to enjoy story times and use their imagination.  At the same time we help authors to promote their wonderful work and help them to reach more people that will enjoy their books.

We also offer training workshops for families, carers, educators and other staff.  These workshops focus on how to embellish a story and all its learning opportunities whilst improving confidence in personal storytelling skills.

The name, Chinwags Storysharing & Entertainment was chosen as "chinwag" is slang for a chat, a light informal conversation for social occasions or a gossipy conversation.  It reflects the aim of this business to share a story from a book by acting it out in a more casual interactive way rather than the formal way of sitting down and reading quietly.  It will also encourage children and carers to explore new authors, new stories and serve as a kind of word of mouth advertising for the books themselves.

The business was founded in April 2015 and started its performances in Townsville and surrounding areas.  Now we are touring to different areas in Qld and other parts of Australia as well as preparing our tour abroad to Asia and Europe.  Keep following us on (facebook, twitter, blog, newsletter )to find out where we will be next.
